FTBL Concludes Its Fifth Successful Basketball Season with Its Web3x3 Tournament

On June 19, Finoverse’s non-profit subdivision FinTech Basketball League (FTBL) hosted its first Web3 3v3 basketball competition. Players competed from 21:00-23:00 in Mong Kok, Hong Kong, with winners receiving $1000 USD each in Alibaba Cloud Credits, compliments of Alibaba Cloud, the tournament’s official prize sponsor.

The tournament dubbed “Web3x3 Basketball Tournament” featured 48 female and male players across 12 mixed teams. This sporting competition comes amid FTBL’s fifth successful basketball season, with the league now having over 500 active players and 20 teams. Both female and male players came from various backgrounds and companies, notably OKX, BCG, Mox, Alibaba, ZA, FundFluent, livi bank, Deloitte, JHP Asia Partners, 9GAG, Holdex, TTB Partners, SQ Capital, BNV Limited, and Société Générale.

To host its Web3x3 Basketball Tournament, FTBL partnered with Moongate, its Ticketing and Registration Partner. In line with FTBL’s FinTech roots, Moongate used an NFT ticketing solution for players and teams to register for the event. The NFT ticket also provided participants with access to exclusive perks, such as limited edition Web3x3 jerseys, discounts for future competitions and Finoverse events, and access to the FTBL S5 afterparty.

All in all, the tournament was successful and was concluded by a victory from JH Partners. The Web3x3 Basketball Tournament was a great opportunity for professionals to come together and connect with like-minded individuals from the FinTech industry in a fun and exciting environment. As FTBL’s S5 afterparty will take place sometime in mid-July, be sure to stay tuned for more upcoming details!
